Dum Dee Dum... I am not a super hero neither am i spiderman. I am going to save the world... like as if you would believe. I am a maniac. I came from an outer space which is filled with water. I learn swimming at the age of zero.I wail like a cry baby. I crawl like spiderman, i fly like superman, i drive like batman. I live in wonderland. Rugrats is my friend, so is peter pan.
i sent an email to isel asking about entry requirements etc and the nice guy was nice enough to reply lar, at least, but the reply was that i have to speak and write french fluently. alors, qu'est-ce que je dois faire? i have to find someone to translate that letter for me that iwrote in english to french so that they'll read it and reply.
in comparison, the nice guy from University libre de bruxelles, replied with all the requisite information i asked, plus info on fees i have to pay. dumortier said im a foreigner so i get preferential treatment, but you know what? i have to pay 3395 euros more than members of the EU. so i guess i pay for preferential treatment too sob. i'd rather not get preferential treatment and pay less for school fees instead.boo hoo hoo..
my mum has introduced the cap of 3000 sing dollars per month for the duration of my studies overseas. that effectively excludes everything, except China, france, germany and if i cut it really thin, belgium. but she also said something that made me really pissed. i mean ok lar, she has the right to say that but then how can i guaratnee.. ok here's what she said:
you want to go overseas to study, better make sure you can earn back the money spent. your grand-aunty's daughter went to US to study came back and became insurance agent earning 1200 a month (she's a malaysian). the accounting company that we go to, has this malaysian, australia to study, now earning 1600. how can they ever get back the money they spent studying abroad? so you have to make sure your degree is recognised and able to be earn the money back.
ok. HOW THE H**L am i going to know whether anyone will want to hire me? any degree holder is the same. gotta go through the gruelling process. and degrees are recognised from abroad, not as if i'm going to some ulu university in timbuktu. just france and belgium. besides as xtina said "if you get overseas degree that's recognised in singapore, you definitely can get job in singapore. but get NUS degree, may not be able to get job overseas." actually that's tautological. but it's a great comfort to know that smoeone actually agrees about that. like bell bell said, companies are actually biased aganist local graduates so like what the hell lar! just go get an overseas degree and let things take care of itself after that. even if i have to starve etc i'll still make sure i can get my money back, even if it takes me the rest of my life, and eternal exile from singapore since job opportunities in snigapore are SOOOOOO rare and faaaaaaaaaaaarrrrr between.
actually i did a bit of calculations. here they are
belgium:
annual fees=3395+739 euros = 12 402 sing
annual living expenses (600 euros a mth)=7200 euros = 21600 sing
total for 5 years =170 010 sing
and i will be an engineer in management = masters in bizad
france:
annual fees=500 euros=1500 sing
annual living (600 per mth)=7200 euro = 21600 sing
total for 5 yrs = 115 500 sing
grad with either engineer in logistics or masters in logistics depending on school
singapore
annual fee=5500 sing
annual living (300 per mth) = 3600 sing
total for 4 years = 36 400
bachelor in business no masters
